Responsibilities
Provides direct supervision to production department with team leaders in implementing manufacturing schedules, staffing and training requirements, quality and cost controls, production standards, and safety programs to meet or exceed production quotas. Overall supervisory responsibility for Extrusion Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Coordinates all activities for overall work center performance to leverage best practices across multiple shifts.
Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which improvements can be made, and tracking operating budgeting.
Focuses on supervision of production activities toward customer satisfaction and attainment of production quotas, lead and delivery times.
Responsible for off shift supervisors (in a matrix organization). Coordinating and directly daily production activities to include scheduling, staffing and quality.
Directs and coordinates, with team leaders, activities concerned with production of company products, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, machine and equipment capability.
Technical proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and repair issues.
Assists Plant Manager in establishing production, quality and cost control standards, production, product and staffing scheduling, assists in budget preparation and monitoring.
Plans and directs production activities and established production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
Coordinates production activities with purchasing, maintenance, engineering and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
Assists Plant Manager by providing data and analysis on production, quality control, maintenance, and operational issues to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, operating or production problems.
Lead and implement business improvement processes to achieve or exceed budgeted operation results.
Confers with subordinate team leaders to review production activity, operating, waste/scrap, and quality reports to determine course of action and changes in operations.
Provide leadership and development of team leaders, transition operations to high performance team environment.
Assists in implementing and coordinating organizational policies and goals.
Insure compliance with all corporate, local, state, federal policies and regulations.
Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing, trade associations and participates in community relations.
Hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
