REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1) Experienced blue print reader and inspection techniques.
2) Effective use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
3) Good oral and written communication skills.
4) Project management.
5) Ability to prioritize and work independently.
6) Knowledge of process improvement methodology and lean initiatives.
7) Statistical process control and process capability.
8) Process validations and qualification.
Qualification Requirements
1) Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
2) Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a manufacturing engineer in a machine shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1) Lean Experience Preferred.
2) Medical industry background preferred.
Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists Operations in achieving on-time delivery, scrap reduction, quality improvements, productivity and cost objectives by managing and leading continuous process improvements in a timely, efficient manner. Responsible for implementing and tracking cost improvement projects for existing products/processes to meet internal continuous improvement objectives. Implements scrap reduction initiatives. This position must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures. Works under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1) Performs a wide variety of continuous improvement assignments of major complexity with only general direction, requiring a high degree of technical competence.
2) Responsible for the development and implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes and methods. Works closely with Operations and Engineering personnel to implement improvements.
3) Tracks, trends, analyze processes and improvements.
4) Provides training and advisory support to hourly personnel on process/procedural changes related to continuous improvement initiatives.
5) Analyzes discrepant parts or units to determine whether a process problem exists.
6) Supervise in the absence of operations supervisor.
7) Performs all operations according to prescribed safety and environmental principles.
8) All other related duties as assigned.
