Experience Requirements
5 to 10 years of progressive corporate selling in medical and technical product.
-Experience in sales of Medical devices or OEM Medical devices is required.
-Significant exposure (2 to 3 years) to the strategic business planning process.
-Demonstrated experience in multi-level, major account based sales processes.
-Demonstrated functional experience in areas such as strategic selling, Key Account Management and business development.
Qualification Requirements
Must be located on the West Coast (San Diego or San Franscisco area is preferred).
-A demonstrated track record for meeting sales objectives in a technology company; year over year results.
-Ability to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of people having varying backgrounds, education, and experience.
-Strong Project Management Skills
-Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project, etc.
-High degree of initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
A solid understanding of the medical device industry, and, in particular, the cardiovascular, industry & the OEM business.
Responsibilities
The role of the Sales Manager, West will report to the Sales Director of direct and indirect representatives and will be responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing accounts for the OEM business. Managing the OEM sales organization, the marketing organization, and other functional areas of the business, the role is focused on achieving sales objectives by developing account penetration plans, finding synergies amongst our multiple businesses, coordinating sales strategies, developing and maintaining key customer relationships, conducting customer business reviews, and supporting the selling efforts to close orders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exceed sales objectives for the OEM Specialties Business Unit in the designated geographical area.
Meet with current and potential OEM customers to explain/recommend Teleflex Medical OEM’s products, design capabilities, and production facility capabilities.
Implement plans and strategies to grow sales with current and prospective customers.
Apply day-to-day supervision of & communication with the direct and indirect sales representatives.
Guide sales representatives in developing a territory sales plan to exceed sales quotas and objectives.
Guide sales activities and representative time management to support company marketing initiatives and product launches.
Hire and train new sales representatives, as required.
Train new indirect sales representatives.
Develop solid business relationships with OEM customers by encouraging the use of Teleflex Medical design assistance and arrange meetings with Teleflex Medical Engineering and support staff.
Prepare and communicate pricing proposals/ quotations by following the company's pricing guidelines and market trends.
Prepare, formalize, and negotiate OEM contracts (terms, conditions, product volumes, and prices) for Teleflex OEM Specialty customers.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with OEM customers and their representatives.
Manage OEM accounts and provide necessary follow-up to expedite orders and resolve problems involving payments, delivery, and product performance.
Monitor and control OEM customer performance to plan, and develop and implement progressive measures to assist client companies achieve stated sales objectives.
Evaluate territory performance against established objectives/guidelines (sales forecast, budget, number of new accounts, etc.) and take appropriate action to improve performance.
Provide accurate forecast of sales by customer and product on a timely basis.
Provide input for annual plan with supporting strategies and targets.
Organize and manage sales representative presentations at summer and winter sales meetings.
Manage expenses within specified budget and company policy guidelines.
Interact with OEM customers to ensure customer specifications and requirements are easily transferable to Teleflex Medical OEM systems.
Candidate is responsible for ensuring that all tasks associated with assigned projects are completed within the timeframe required to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide timely reporting of activities in the field and special reporting to assist in business and product planning.
Communicate effectively with disciplines within the Teleflex Medical OEM organization.
Coordinate efforts with internal Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Manufacturing, QA/RA, Finance, and Senior Management resources as needed.
Set up/Attend trade shows, consult industry directories, and travel to develop new and existing OEM customer leads.
Keep management abreast of market conditions and OEM product performance. Recommend to the Company areas of future growth potential such as acquisitions, new market strategies, competitive analysis, etc.
Comply with FDA and ISO Quality Systems requirements.
Perform other related duties as required in assisting the Director of International Sales, to grow the Teleflex Medical OEM Specialty
