Experience Requirements
10 years experience in engineering development related function; 5 years experience in profile or tubing extrusion; 3 years experience in medical devices company. Ansys CFD experience preferred.
 
Qualification Requirements
BS or Professional Engineer Certification - Plastics Engineering or technical discipline.
 
Preferred Qualifications
MS Engineering/technical discipline or BS.
 
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate process development activities to support new product developments, sustaining engineering efforts, cost reductions and design/manufacturing. Plan and lead process development activities including design, prototyping, testing (verification and validation) risk management/process FMEA, process characterization, and documentation. Lead the redesign of existing processes to improve quality, utilize automated production techniques, optimize process capabilities and produce better products in a more cost-effective manner. Provide technical expertise in developing new tooling, guidance in processing and troubleshooting, and specifying new equipment. Interface with product development and manufacturing to understand product requirements and establish design criteria for manufacturing processes. Identify and create new process concepts. Design and validate processes and components using engineering principles and adhering to the design control process as appropriate. Interact with vendors to define and evaluate materials and processes needed for effective execution of process development activities. Interface with vendors to obtain quotations, purchase components, and debug problems with production parts and processes. Evaluate and implement new technologies to aid in the manufacture, control and effectiveness of manufacturing processes. Lead project ream members to meet project objective, milestones, and target dates. Advise other engineering personnel on technical aspects of product/process design and the validation of processes including installation, qualification, operational qualification and performance qualification. Lead, conduct and/or participate in design and technical phase reviews. Update and review project progress on an as required basis by supervisor. Interface with product development engineers, manufacturing and lab technicians to design and develop new fixtures, tooling, and machinery. Lead the development, and qualification of required manufacturing processes. Investigate when appropriate, investigate or direct the investigation of product complaints to determine cause and implement corrective action. Support product related technical problems in engineering and manufacturing areas. Ensure projects are developed and documented compliant with Arrow's Quality system.
