Expert proficiency in personal computer and system software skills to accomplish word processing, worksheets, and ERP/MRP systems. Must have knowledge of purchasing techniques, bills of materials and routings, inventory control techniques, and ERP/MRP practices and techniques. Expert knowledge of master scheduling practices and capacity analysis. Leadership (team development, ability to influence). Responsibilities
Performs functions to direct and control materials management for the facility. Under administrative direction, plan, organize and control the materials system of the facility to meet customer order requirements: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct activities of subordinate supervisors and staff members engaged in the purchasing of materials, storage, demand analysis, inventory control, and shipping and receiving activities. Assume overall responsibility for the proper sourcing and procurement of materials, supplies and services for the facility. Engage in the more sensitive negotiations for critical and high value items. Control, measure and regulate efficient inventory levels of materials, commodities and purchased components in support of manufacturing operations. Ensure efficient work center loads, routings, lead times and material availability to meet customer order requirements. Direct the receipt, storage, movement, shipment and trucking of materials and goods for the operations. Manages the demand management function which serves as the primary input to the master schedule. Responsible to develop, recommend and implement improvements and changes to materials management reporting systems. Perform other duties as assigned.
